The Best Christmas Gift EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

One day, at about 7 p.m., Mom said "Would you like to dogsit? This dog's name is Orry." We replied, "Yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" A few days later, Mom went to pick up Orry. Mom didn't like Orry, but we sure did! After a week, we had to take him back to his owners. I was crying -------- EVERYBODY, including Mom (who had grown to love him), as she drove away.

As Mom drove away, she began to laugh! Instead of taking him away, she drove him to a house down the street instead. You see, she and Dad were actually trying him out as our dog. He was up for adoption and Mom and Dad were going to give him to us as a Christmas gift ----- that day was Christmas Eve.

The next day, as we were opening gifts, Mom said, "I hope you like your dog!" Sarah thought she was talking about the purse she got that was a poodle. "I hate it!" I cried. At that very moment, Orry came rushing into the room!! He was our Christmas gift ----------- the best christmas gift EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tuesday

yubba

We've got to be careful or this nickname might stick! But it's just so sweet to hear little brother try to say her name. And for some reason, "Yubba"just suits her at the moment.

She's a squeaker, just like Nathan was.

Friday

We're no longer calling her "Sleepy Sarah"

I'm getting skeert. Abby had this look. A lot. And she ended up being a child who would only fall asleep holding on to my face - sometimes with her fingers up my nose.

GO TO SLEEP SARAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thursday

At CPA

Today was the last day of MDO for Abby. She had a half day so instead of Daddy bringing her home as usual, Nathan, Sarah and I went to pick her up. Abby was so excited to show off her little sister! Sarah rode along in the sling (and helped me carry the camera) and we went and picked up big sister.

sleepy sarah snoring in the sling

can you hear her snoring???

Wednesday

7 minutes

We let little Sarah "cry it out" for the first time tonight. She was exhausted had nursed for what seemed like hours but still was not letting herself fall asleep. We tried taking a walk (inside and outside) but nothing seemed to be working. So I wrapped her in her little straight jacket, put her in the closet, turned out the lights and shut the door. (For those of you who don't know, her "bedroom" is our master bedroom walk-in closet - There's a swing in there - no need to call DCS.)

It took about 7 minutes but now she's asleep.

BACK TO ADD: OK, I was wrong. She faked me out. She was crying again within about 10 minutes of that post. It took her another hour of nursing off and on for her to fall asleep. But she was asleep by 11pm and slept till about 5am!
